If you have any kind of online vocation, it is imperative that you have a good website for the sake of your business. Websites however, can be incredibly expensive. If you are a small business or just starting out you know more than anyone how frustrating this can be with a tight budget. Not to worry though, today I am going to tell you how to maximize your budget for the best website possible. I will be going over three common budget ranges and what the best options are for each.
The first budget we will be talking about is under 1k.
If this is your budget, you should definitely be going the DIY route and investing your money in a copywriter for the most important page on your site. Copywriters can be extremely expensive, however it is possible to find a decent one for around two hundred dollars. For the design of your website, a very good option is to go to https://studio.envato.com, and find a good WordPress Theme Customizer. They will be able to customize your content in an existing WordPress Theme to make it look like it is from a brand. You should be able to find somebody who will be able to do this in a budget of 100-300 dollars. The key with this price range is to be sure you are not spending your entire budget on design. While it is important, your strategy for your site is even more so. This is because your strategy is what attracts people to your site and is also the persuading point for sales.
The next price point we will discuss is between 1k and 5k.
This budget may be a bit larger, but I would still not recommend hiring a freelance designer. The reason behind this is that most designers will just be focusing on the visual aspect of it, and that is not what you want. Instead, for this budget, you should invest your money in a web consultant that can help you find the best strategy for your site. You can never go wrong with a good strategy, because this is how your business will be discovered and turn viewers into paying customers. The next thing you are going to want to spend your money on is copywriting for a few of your landing pages to make them really persuasive for your viewers. For the design aspect, a WordPress Customizer is still the way to go, but you will be able to afford someone more high end, who can go a little deeper into the design work and customize it to really look your own.
The last budget we have is between five and ten thousand dollars.
This is still on the lower end of a website budget, however you are now within the range to pay for a fully custom design. Again, your main focus should still be the strategy, but once you do have a very solid strategy developed you can look for a freelance Web Designer to put it all together. Normally, you will have to hire a few different people to bring your whole website together, however if you work with me I will be able to handle all of the different aspects of it. I am both a web strategist as well as a Designer which really allows me to see the big picture for your site and to handle it in a very smooth manner as well.
